Hello!

As I was just explaining the other day to a friend of mine why I had not updated my blog for a long time. To tell you the truth so many things had happened and some not so pleasant that I was no way ready to depress you all!! lol

Well coming to what's up right now: Project Trimester + Internship. I conveniently missed out a whole trimester i.e. my 2nd trimester on the blog. It was pretty O.K. Nothing much apart from classes and projects and my trip to Hyderabad for ICFAI Hyderabad fest. We got through the first round of marketing (2nd after Christ) and I was like ok.. so many be my marketing ideas are not so bad after all. Unfortunately, that evening two of ICFAI Hyderabad students died in a bike accident and the fest was winded up. I did visit Husain Sagar and the Biryani at Paradise Restuarant is over hyped. Brand Image > Brand Identity. If there is Biryani in India that is truly Biryani in my dictionary it's Delhi Durbar's (Mumbai). Overall it was again an 'experience' as you realise there is so much competition and great brains out there.

Coming to right now, I have 3 projects: Sales, Advertisement and Finance. Under sales we have decided to do a live project on KIDZEE which is a private play school. It's owned by Zee and runs under the franchisee model. We had and still having a nice time visiting the schools around Bangalore, conducting a satisfactory survey and studying their sales model.

Advertisement Project is on a study of women as the decision maker/influencer or purchaser today. We will trace the traditional role played by women to it's changing one today. What are they today? What role do they play, their 'power' quotient. A few case studies on Ads which are totally unrelated e.g. Su-Kam Invertors which sells AC now use women in their Ads to capture the market. Plus how influencial are women in the choices of the men in their lives. Again a small survey will be done to test our hypothesis. Our environment being India and subjects, the Indian women.

Finance is interesting. I get to reorganise or at least 'suggest' changes a micro-business can make in any one of the financial aspects like Stock keeping (though it comes under operations as well) and Creditors/Debtors turnover. Our industry: Iron and Steel and Company: Immaculate Steel Pvt. Ltd. The number to stock itself is staggering. For each type there are a thousand sizes, shapes and quality. Let's see what aspect we can improve for there are thousands of things you could change and test how it works. Not that Immaculate Steel would actually go out and do it but you never know, some points might help them run their business better.
