Recipe for the Day
Kichri - My mom-in-law's recipe (She is an excellent cook) This is fast and cooks in 10 mins flat!
Ingredients
1/2 cup rice
1/4 cup Yellow moong daal
1/4 cup Orange masoor daal
1 small onion sliced
1 green or red chilly
3-4 pods garlic chopped
1 stick ginger chopped finely
1-2 cloves
1-2 Elaichi(Cardamom)
Salt to taste (In this case 1 tsp)
Method
1.Wash the rice and lentils and place in pressure cooker
2.Add the rest of the ingredients
3.Add lots of water (Around 4cups:1 cup rice)
4.Pressure cook untill two whistles
Tasty and Healthy kichri ready to serve with Papad, Achar, Dahi or Kadhi :)
